Confessions of a Scrapaholic.....

Yes, I am a "SCRAPAHOLIC" - I'll admit it and I'm PROUD OF IT!

Here is how I know...

I decided to make a gift for a friend and co-worker's wedding.

Now I'll admit it, I should have started it sooner than a week before the wedding, but I started it at an all day crop on a Saturday and thought I could finish it that day. In fact, I even brought two other projects to work on, just in case I did. < insert GIANT LOL here!!!>

Well, the album incorporated many different techniques and products, and yes, of course GLIMMER was involved! I didn't finish it that Saturday, but I did have a great time scrapping with the "DOO CREW! "

I ended up staying up until 1 and 2nd AM on the following Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights to try to finish it so I could get it out by Fed-ex last Thursday, and YES, I even made it into work on time each morning!

Well, last Wednesday night at 2am, I had about an hour left to go and had to make a decision - stay up till 3am, and get up at 7am? Or go to bed, get that extra hours sleep, and bring my scrap stuff with me to work the next day, and finish it on my lunch hour???

What do you think I did?? ....................

Yup, I caved in and off to bed I went - AND YES I did bring a box of supplies with me to work the next day!

Well, at least they know of my addiction at work, and didn't seem too surprised.
(My boss even calls me "Scrappy!")

Most of what was left to do was ribbon tying around the rings, and I added the spiral flowers and was still able to finish it and get it out for Friday delivery!

I did hear from the groom on Monday, and he said he and his bride loved it! < Insert BIG SMILE here!>
I had lots of fun making it and will be incorporating the techniques into a class I want to teach at Scrap-a-Doodle Doo in the future. I have the papers all picked out. So far the plan is to use Heidi Swapp papers in all black and white and it will have a HOME theme - so watch for class sneak peaks and info.

In the meantime - please let me know how you think this album came out -- I'd LOVE to hear your comments!

I created this album out of a pattern that I made using a file folder as a template
and I cut it into the shape of a heart.
It measure @ 10" x 10"
Most of the papers used were from the Kaiser - Le Chateau Collection -as well as their rub ons.
I just love the blues, browns and black of this collection!
Also some 7 Gypsies paper too and some from my "stash" too!

There are Prima Flowers, and some spiral paper flowers that I made on the front cover.
The front "page" is made from paper covered chipboard, as well as the L and the H.
The paint on the "&" and the paint on the bottom is Ranger's Distress crackle paint in Antique Bronze.

A little Glimmer Glam on the flowers is a GOOD thing!

Inside of the cover - again chipboard -covered with paper. I created a little "pocket" by cutting out the pattern on the Kaiser paper, inking it with Ranger Distress Chipped Sapphire, and only adhering the bottom and sides. A little leftover lace on the bottom too.
This is a piece of Grundgeboard that I cut to make a small inside page - lots of techniques here -
First - I sprayed it with Tattered Angels CHALKBOARD GLIMMER MIST -Cornflower, then I added some Ranger Distress Ink -Antique Bronze, and I used a Stampin' Up rolling stamp -I think it is called Vintage -with black Stazon Ink - I LOVE how it came out!

I covered the back of the Grungeboard page with this cool paper that had the silver beading on it -inked the edges with the Chipped Sapphire and I liked the look of the rolling stamp so much - I added it here too!
Lots of stuff going on here - this page was made with Ranger's Sticky Back Canvas.  I took a piece of the same Kaiser paper that is on the front cover and used a transfer technique to set onto it.  I then gave it a coat of Tattered Angel's Espresso Glimmer Glam.  I made 2 pockets with more paper - added a Tim Holtz Ornate Plate with the word family highlighted.  The lace along the edge of one paper was white - and sprayed with Electric Blue and Walnut Gold GLIMMER MIST.  Edges were also hit with the Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire.
Close up of the Canvas - and the card inside is from a box of PRIMA Journaling sheets, I added a rub on, swiped it through some GLIMMER MIST - and put cardstock inside that was also given a GLIMMER MIST Mask treatment for added photos and memories.
This I think is my favorite page ( or at least one of them! LOL!) the back of the canvas -sprayed with Cornflower CHALKBOARD GLIMMER MIST - Stamped with Stazon Black Ink - with a swirl stamp - the BIRD stamp and the words are from 2 different Close to My Heart Stamp sets - and the SPARKLE is from
Tattered Angel's TIDEPOOL GLIMMER GLAM!

This little page starts out with Sticky Back Canvas - same transfer technique as the full page -then I added a photo mat and adhered it with 3D foam tape on the bottom and 2 sides - to create a pocket - into which I slipped a Tattered Angel's Card - that was matted for an added photo on the back and highlighted with GLIMMER GLAM and Mist using a paint brush.

Distress Ink ( chipped sapphire) and some Electric Blue Glimmer Mist and a little water and scrunching gives a nice effect I think - don't you?!  I made a pocket here too - with another tag for added memories.
Melissa Frances Vintage Keyholes -this was once white - but see what a little Glimmer Glam can do!
Spring Rain Glimmer Mist on the mats - Chalkboard Mist on the heart with some Distress crackle Antique Bronze, along with a strip of PRIMA IOD Tape, all give this clear acrylic page some cool elements.

The back of the Acrylic page - Always remember the rule for Acrylic scrapping - What goes on the front -needs to be duplicated on the back.
I love the little bird cages in this line - this one  and the word LOVE are from the Rub-Ons that go with Kaiser papers.
More rub ons and a place for more photos - I love the stripe on this page!
This Heart was made out of a Grungeboard sheet and sprayed with Cornflower Blue Chalkboard Glimmer Mist -then I applied a mask and sprayed it with Sapphire Glimmer Mist.  I created another pocket for memories, and tore the edge and Distress Inked with Chipped Sapphire here too.  I added another Tattered Angel's card that was matted for added photos here as well.
More of the lovely stripe - along with a rub on "Every Day is a Gift" the light paper on the right was edged with a Fiskar's punch to look like lace - then swiped through some Glimmer Mist that was left on the spray mat  - there is more Antique Bronze Crackle paint here too - and I also left the punched side open and used 3D Foam tape on only 3 sides - for another pocket. The large ric-rac ribbon is only adhered on the top and bottom, allowing for mementos to be slipped underneath.
A small clear acrylic page here was coated on one side with Tattered Angel's Espresso Glimmer Glam, and a TA's Card was added on the front, after a little painting.
Just spray your Glimmer Mist on your spray mat - dip your paint brush in it - and highlight wherever you see fit! YUMMY!
The back of the acrylic page has another place for a photo - that has been masked and sprayed too!
Last page - the bird cages are already on the paper - I added rub-ons, a photo mat where you can see how I used the chipboard swirl as a mask and then used the beautiful blue GLIMMERED swirl as and embellishment! - The edges of the mat were also touched with the Antique Bronze paint too!
Here is the back - I added 2 rub-ons - and the ribbon again is only glued on the 2 edges -so they can slide photos or mementos under it too!
I punched a hole and tied on these cute elements with a hemp like cord - the large key is from Tattered Angels, the 2 smaller pieces were painted with GLIMMER GLAM - and have a little sparkle now - but you can't see it very well in this photo - TRUST ME  - sooo COOL!!

I hope you enjoyed looking - and are INSPIRED to CREATE!

Again -watch for info on future class that will be a take off on this project - using many of the techniques - BUT will be a different shape and theme!

THANKS again - and leave me a note to say you were here!
